The details behind this policy statement are yet to be released, but ABRI members are very interested to understand the practicalities and how it might play out for other products such as batteries. The transition to a circular economy within Australia will take time, especially for emerging chemistries where the market in Australia is not yet fully developed. Support for research and development in efficient onshore processing capacity, innovation, and circular economy manufacturing models will be essential parts of any such strategy.
