Last year the Qld Department of Environment and Science released guidance on reducing risk at waste and recycling facilities and announced a partnership with Waste Recycling Industry Queensland WRIQ to tackle these challenges.
To support consultation on these guidelines, WRIQ is facilitating sessions with the Department. Consultation is seeking your feedback on the guidance and to inform upcoming initiatives aimed at reducing fire risk and compliance activity.
You can read more about these sessions here: WRIQ Prevention of Fires in Waste Stockpiles Consultation Workshops, South Brisbane, 20th of May | Humanitix
The remaining regional sessions are taking place this Thursday 3 June (Rockhampton) and Friday 4 June (Bundaberg) with the last session scheduled for Friday 11 June (Ipswich).
These sessions are open to WRIQ members and Non-Members and should be attended by private sector operators, local councils and consultants working in the waste and recycling sector.
