1. VIC EPA SPECIAL EDUCATION BULLETIN - NEW ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION LAWS AND WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

The Victorian EPA has released a special education bulletin on the new environmental protection and what you need to do. See the link below for further information.

2. NATIONAL TRANSPORT COMMISSION SURVEY ON MANDATORY ESCAPE RESPIRATORS FOR PLACARD LOADS (DUE 31 JULY)

The National Transport Commission (NTC) released (24 June) a survey to gather information on mandatory escape respirators for placard loads containing Division 2.3, Division 6.1 or Class 8 dangerous goods.  The information gathered through the survey will assist the NTC in the comprehensive review of the ADG Code. You can help by disseminating the survey and encouraging fleet owners in your network to complete it.

3. FESTIVAL IDEAS OF TIMING - 25 AUGUST - ANY COMMENTS

As discussed at the General Meeting (23 June), the Executive Committee is considering moving the Festival of Ideas to 25 August. The event would most likely be in Sydney and a mix of face-to-face and online.

The thinking in bringing it forward is that this will be an opportune time to discuss future strategic priorities for ABRI given there was no discussion in 2020.
