Health and safety

  • Risk of exposure occurs only if the battery is thermally or electrically abused to the point of compromising the enclosure and/or initiating a fire. If this occurs, exposure to the combustion products may happen by inhalation of the vapors.
  • When burned, hazardous products of combustion including carbon oxides can occur
  • Contact with the contents of an opened battery may cause irritation.
  • Do not puncture, crush or incinerate

Packaging for transport

  • Aquion AHI batteries are properly classified as non-hazardous, but safe packaging requirements indicate that batteries be packaged in a manner that prevents short circuits and be contained in a “strong outer packaging” that prevents spillage of contents.
